Mimis Cabaret

For a late-night Halloween cabaret show, we were commissioned to design custom visuals to accompany a series of live performances. The brief called for content that balanced a playful theatricality with a sinister Halloween edge, supporting the performers and heightening the atmosphere for the audience. The visuals became an integral part of the show’s storytelling, bringing an extra layer of drama and spectacle to the stage.
The content was created in Notch and After Effects, combining real-time 3D effects with pre-rendered animations. A key technical challenge was working within the constraints of a large-format, high-pixel-count screen, ensuring visuals remained sharp and impactful at scale. Another challenge was the tight turnaround time, which required efficient workflows to produce and deliver high-quality content in sync with the show’s music cues. Despite the schedule, the final delivery was seamless and performance-ready.

"The visuals made the show. Dan captured the Halloween vibe perfectly — sinister but still playful — and synced everything so tightly with the music. The turnaround was crazy fast, but he delivered something that elevated the whole performance."
